David
Bartlett is a paper engineer. He's also a furniture designer and, strangely enough,
the two disciplines do function together very well. Since the sixties he's been
making cardboard furniture and his latest collection is constructed from polyester
laminated fibreboard for endurance and strength: seen here, the chairs and table
which Isabella Blow has installed in her London House. The Issi connection, as
usual, has opened doors. During Fashion week we witnessed Philip Treacy's first
ever origami hat, constructed by Bartlett, while Habitat will be stocking his furniture
soon.
